REAR AIRBAG SENSOR > INSTALLATION

CAUTION:

Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing (Click here) .

HINT:

The procedure described below is for the RH side. Use the same procedure for both the LH and RH sides, unless otherwise specified.

1. Confirm that the ignition switch is off.
   

2. Confirm that the cable to the negative battery terminal is disconnected.
   

   CAUTION:

   1. Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
      
   2. Confirm that the negative battery terminal is disconnected before performing the operation. Even an impact to only the airbag sensor will cause the airbag to deploy.
      

3. Insert the hook into the body hole and install the airbag sensor with the bolt.
   

   Torque:

   9.0 N*m{ 92 kgf*cm , 80 in.*lbf }

   NOTICE:

   1. Do not use a rear airbag sensor that has been dropped.
      
   2. Do not subject the rear airbag sensor to any impact or force.
      

4. Confirm that there is no looseness by shaking the rear airbag sensor.
   

5. Connect the airbag connector.

1. Engage the 6 clips and install the side No. 1 trim.
   

1. Engage the 5 claws and install the deck trim side belt hole cover.
   

1. Engage the 6 claws.
   

2. Install the rear deck trim cover with the 2 clips.
   

1. Engage the 9 claws and install the front door scuff plate.
   

1. Install the rear seat assembly ( Click here).
   

Torque:

5.4 N*m{ 55 kgf*cm , 48 in.*lbf }
